JACK HERER

Also known as The Jack, Platinum Jack, JH, and Premium Jack, Jack Herer is a famous strain of 55% sativa and 45% indica, enabling it to create balanced cerebral and bodily effects. Believed to be a cross between a Haze hybrid and a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk hybrid, its tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content is between 15% and 24%, and its cannabidiol (CBD) content is around 0.7%-1.0%. 

The strain was named in honor of the real Jack Herer, a famous cannabis rights campaigner who passed away in 2010. He was affectionately known as “The Hemperor,” or “The Emperor of Hemp” and was the author of the Hemp Bible and The Emperor Wears No Clothes.

Jack Herer’s aroma is much prized and properly cured. Jack Herer strain flowers have a citrus bouquet. This plant releases an herbal scent similar to sage when burned, and the smoke also has an herbal taste, with some users describing the overall impression as similar to potpourri.

Since Jack Herer’s development in the Netherlands in the 1990s, it’s become a staple strain of cannabis for many people. It is famous around the world both for recreational and medicinal use. It has won nine Cannabis Cup titles, including first place for sativa in 1999.

Jack Herer genetics have since been used to develop several other strains, including Pineapple Jack, Jack’s Cleaner, Critical Jack, Jack Skellington, and Jack Flash.
