MAKING HISTORY – The Official Licence to Cultivate Hemp in Ireland!!
A licence for the cultivation of certain varieties of hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) for fibre use will only be granted by the Minister for Health and Children under the above Acts, to persons who are entitled to and intend making application to the Department of Agriculture and Food for a subsidy under the EU Aid Scheme for the production of hemp under Council Regulation (EC) No. 1251/1999 (as amended) and who occupy and farm not less than 3 hectares (7.4 acres) of utilised agricultural land (including rough grazing, commanage and/or mountain grazing).
